HISTORY
1935
The story of Alba begins when Orlando Cocchi opens his own workshop in Via Colonna in Florence. Here the company begins creating authentic works of art in leather, reproducing Florentine Renaissance designs. Today, some of his splendid creations are displayed in the meeting room where his granddaughter, Cinzia Cocchi, greets the company’s most important clients – renowned luxury brands that have entrusted Alba with the production of their small leather goods collections.
1940 – 1990
The continuous growth of Alba prompts Orlando to seek larger premises better suited to his ambitions: in Calenzano – a renowned center of excellence dedicated to the production of leather goods – Orlando finds the ideal site for his company. A new generation at the helm oversees the transformation from artisan workshop to industrial organization.
1996 – 1997
Cinzia exports the company’s potential overseas, relishing the challenge to specialize in manufacturing processes of the highest quality for the luxury leather goods sector. This type of work requires meticulous care, largely manual, and avails of an increasingly highly-skilled workforce. Alba’s artisans are skilled at combining aesthetics and practicality to create items of everyday use that represent the height of luxury thanks to their quality and refinement.
